When I feel overwhelmed I put on early 2000s music and blare it. I find myself lost in the sound. I close my eyes and visualize a music video to everything that I am hearing. It takes a mind that would be going in all sorts of different creative direction, into a self-consuming trains of thought into a single focused sensory experience. The loud music helps despite the stereotype that people on the spectrum are harmed by loud sounds.
